I was invited to participate in a wonderful project organized by Eileen Jeng called “Give Voice” Postcard Project. It’s a grassroots, multistate arts advocacy initiative occurring in New York, New Mexico, Illinois, and North Carolina, among other states in the coming months. The nationwide postcard writing project has the potential to change the current political landscape. I’m one of thirty-nine artists that have created works of art that have been printed as postcards that can be sent to our Federal Senators and Representatives at their district addresses. The goal of the project is to let our voices be heard, with the aim of helping to protect the arts, culture, environment, women’s rights, our civil liberties, and many other important issues. You can see my image here. The original works of art will be shown at LMAKbooks+design in NYC in July 2017, with proceeds going to a number of organizations (I selected the ACLU).
